Fun Business Is Not Easy At All!

The reprehensible nonsense considered as humor now-a-days is an indication of this world’s moral decay.

Back in the 50s, people did not have time for things like humor and fun. At that time laughter was like tying shoe laces or typhoid vaccines which provided benefits but was a luxury that everyone could not afford.

However, people did indulge themselves in some comics of decent, civilized humorist men who told the famous knock-knock jokes and mourned their wives’ shocking spending habits and inacceptable attempts to make pot roast. Those humorists showered the world with gags and jokes about the imperfections of nagging mother-in-laws and menaces of shady immigrants.

Those comics didn’t disparage the nation’s values, they personified them.

While studying fun and laughter in detail, scientists have found that it is very difficult to make people laugh in during an experiment in a lab mainly because people normally laugh in social settings. Studies found that in comedy situations people respond quickly with a laughter. Comedy is very subjective and sex, race, religion and where you live all factor in what people think is funny or not funny. Comedy is in the ear of the beholder.

If you ask me we’re on a path to doom. If we don’t change our comedic stripes soon and return to the simple choices of entertaining pratfalls and cleverly censored one-liners, then it won’t be long before we get our just desserts. We may find ourselves spending an eternity sitting through a never-ending open mic night in the Lenny Bruce Lounge of the Holiday Inn in Hell.
